Cassandre Beaugrand continued her global triathlon domination by being crowned the 2025 Supertri E World Champion after another spectacular performance in London on Saturday.

The 27-year-old French superstar is still riding the crest of a brilliant wave after a golden 2024 which had been highlighted by Olympic glory in Paris and a World Triathlon Championship title as well.

Cassandre has started 2025 in similar style, and she was just too good here, claiming victory over her great rival – British star Beth Potter. The final margin was a convincing 34 seconds, with Germany’s Julia Broecker completing the podium.,

Beaugrand on ‘brutal’ challenge

Beaugrand led right from the starting pistol until the finale of the gruelling nine-discipline triathlon under the lights of London’s Aquatics Centre. She was delighted to have claimed victory, and honest about just how tough it had been.

“It was very brutal out there; I forgot just how hard this racing is. It is very challenging racing Beth but it’s nice having a big battle like that. If I blew up then I blew up, but I am really happy with the result today.”

France double up with Hueber-Moosbrugger

France doubled up as Maxime Hueber-Moosbrugger claimed the men’s title after a thrilling sprint finish with US star Chase McQueen.

McQueen had led from the start of the nine-discipline, Supertri format and with 500m to go he looked set to defend the title he had won last year. But then Hueber-Moosbrugger turned on the afterburners to eat into a 14-second deficit and soon the two were side-by-side on the virtual run course.

The 28-year-old Hueber-Moosbrugger, who had finished third in London in 2024, made his final move with metres to go to crown a remarkable race and his first-ever Supertri victory.

“The main thing was to race as much as I could in the water and on the bike, and put it all in on the run,” explained Hueber-Moosbrugger at the finish. “I knew I had good legs on the run and I would be able to hold around a 2:50 min pace for the kilometre. That’s what I did so I’m really happy about that. I really wasn’t expecting that – it was an amazing race!”

Poland’s Maciej Bruzdziak would run his way into bronze ahead of Dorian Coninx of France (24 seconds back) and home favourite Jonny Brownlee (35 seconds behind), who would finish fourth and sixth respectively.
